Renault India has finally launched the 2017 Captur SUV in India with an introductory price tag of INR 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom India). This flagship model from the French automaker is based on the popular M0 platform which also forms base for the Duster SUV. Offered in both petrol and diesel options, the transmission duties are carried out by 5-speed manual for petrol and 6-speed manual for diesel. The car maker has also introduced a special variant – ‘Platine’ which is priced at INR 13.88 lakh (ex-showroom India).
12.40 pm: Renault Captur is claimed to get best-in-class ground clearance of 210mm. It also gets a bootspace of 392-Litres.
12.35 pm: The newly launched Renault Captur is also available with personalization which can be done at just INR 17,000.
12.30 pm: The new Captur SUV gets black and beige paint scheme featuring touchscreen infotainment system with bluetooth and navigation compatibility. However, the SUV misses out on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
12.28 pm: The new Captur SUV is based on M0 platform which also underpins the current Duster SUV.
12.25 pm: In terms of dimensions, the new Captur SUV measures 4329mm in length, 1813mm in width, 1619mm in height along with wheelbase of 2673mm and ground clearance of 212mm.
12.20 pm: The new Renault Captur SUV is powered by both petrol and diesel engine options – 1.5-litre H4K petrol and 1.5-litre K9K dCi diesel.

Renault India is all set to launch the much anticipated Captur Crossover SUV in the Indian market today. With the booking for the upcoming Captur 2017 commenced in the month of October this year, the company started dispatching the all-new Captur to the dealerships across the country. This flagship offering from Renault will find its place above Duster SUV in the product range. Dimension-wise, the new Captur SUV will measure 4329mm in length, 1813mm in width, 1619mm in height along with wheelbase of 2673mm and ground clearance of 212mm. Inside the cabin, the overall appeal of the cabin is enhanced by black and beige colour scheme which goes well with fit and finish. Under the hood, the new SUV will be offered with a choice of petrol and diesel engine options – 1.5-litre H4K petrol and 1.5-litre K9K dCi diesel. The former is capable of developing 103 BHP of maximum power @ 5,600 RPM with peak torque of 142 Nm @4,000 RPM whereas the latter churns out 108 BHP of maximum power @ 4,000 RPM along with a peak torque of 240 Nm @ 1,750 rpm. The transmission duties will be carried out by 5-speed manual transmission for petrol engine and 6-speed manual for the diesel mill. The Captur premium SUV will be offered with features such as full-LED headlamps with floating side indicators, LED daytime running lights, ripple LED tail lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and voice recognition, first in segment infinity instrument cluster and a 6-speaker Arkamys sound system. Expected to be priced in the range of INR 10 lakh to INR 15 lakh (ex-showroom), this premium offering from Renault will take on the rivals like Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass.
