
Ford Europe’s chief, Stephen Odell has officially announced that the European version of the Ford EcoSport will be imported from the company’s manufacturing facility in Chennai, India. The carmaker has showcased the compact SUV at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show, thereby adding to the increasing range of SUVs in Europe.
The engine range for the European-spec EcoSport consists of 3 petrol and 1 diesel engine. The award winning 1-litre EcoBoost turbocharged petrol engine will be offered, besides a pair of 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine with 110PS and 90PS of power respectively.
The EcoSport will go on sale in Europe by the end of 2013 and will compete against the likes of Nissan Juke, Peugeot 2008 and Chevrolet Trax.
