Mahindra NuvoSport India Launch Live Updates: Get Price, Specifications, Mileage, Colors, Features of NuvoSport 2016

Mahindra & Mahindra, the homegrown SUV maker has finally launched the much-awaited Mahindra NuvoSport sub-4 metre SUV in India today. The vehicle is priced in the range of INR 7.35 lakh to INR 9.76 lakh, ex-showroom Thane. Like the Quanto, it is a seven-seater SUV that has been developed and designed by the carmaker's in-house design team.

12:45 PM: The Mahindra Nuvosport is available in six variants- N4, N4+, N6, N6 AMT, N8 and N8 AMT. The N6 AMT variant is priced at INR 9 lakh while the N8 AMT variant cost INR 9.76 lakh. Variant Wise features- N4- INR 7.34 lakh, N6- INR 8.36 lakh, N8- INR 9.12 lakh, N4+- INR 7.65 lakh, N6 AMT- INR 9 lakh and N8 AMT- INR 9.76 lakh, ex-showroom Thane.

12:42 PM: The Nuvosport is available in six exterior paint jobs- Molten Red, Rust Orange, Regal Blue, Mist Silver, Diamond White and Fiery Black.

12:40 PM: Mahindra NuvoSport prices start at INR 7.35 lakh (ex-showroom Thane) for the base variant and goes up to INR 9.76 lakh, ex-showroom Thane.

12:38 PM: For passenger safety and security, the sub-4 metre SUV is equipped with dual airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic BrakeForce Distribution) and others. In fact, the base variant also gets ABS with EBD and dual airbags as an optional safety features.

12:37 PM: The compact SUV is equipped with a 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system that also supports Bluetooth, USB and others. The vehicle also gets 60:40 split second row seats, which can be folded down to create a flat bed. It also has follow me home headlamps and steering mounted audio controls.

12:34 PM: The NuvoSport SUV comes with a reclining 2nd row seat, which is also the first in its league. The third row seat can be folded down to create extra luggage space. It comes with a boot space of 412-litres, which is best in class. The boot space can be extended by up to 850-litres by folding third row.

12:33 PM: The flared wheel arches of the SUV have been fitted to 16-inch alloy wheels. The lower end models get steel wheels.

12:31 PM: The Nuvosport is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 17.5kmpl. The vehicle is equipped with an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) unit. As a reminder, the TUV300 compact SUV is also available with an AMT unit.

12:30 PM: The Mahindra NuvoSport is powered by a 1.5-litre mHawk100 diesel engine that is capable of producing 100bhp of power and 230Nm of torque. The torque is more than the Ford EcoSport 1.5L diesel.

12:28 PM: The vehicle comes equipped with a tailgate mounted spare wheel, plastic cladding and smoky taillamps that gives it a sporty profile. The vehicle is based on the Mahindra's 3rd generation platform that also underpins the new Scorpio SUV.

11:53 AM: Interestingly, the Mahindra NuvoSport is likely to be the most affordable seven-seater SUV in the Indian car market. The company is also selling TUV300 7-seater SUV, which is priced at INR 7.26 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.

11:50 AM: The Nuvosport compact SUV is based on the new generation Mahindra platform that also underpins the new Scorpio SUV. As you know, the Quanto was based on the Xylo platform.

11:25 AM: The Mahindra Nuvosport is the company's first launch in fiscal year 2016-17. It is also Mahindra's third compact SUV under 4 metre in length; the company is currently selling KUV100 and the TUV300 in the sub-4 metre SUV category.

The new Nuvosport looks sportier than the Quanto SUV, thanks to its revised styling and SUV-ish stance. It comes with an all-new front fascia with a narrower grille, flanked by all-new headlamps, larger airdams, revised bumper, chrome surround fog lamps and silver skid plate. The eyebrow like daytime running lamps are positioned above the headlamps. At the back, the SUV looks largely identical to its replacement. On sides, there is a black plastic body cladding and pronounced wheel arches fitted with new alloys.

The cabin of the new NuvoSport is slightly premium than the Quanto, and now gets improved quality material. It comes with a new beige dashboard and new dual-tone black and beige leather seats. An ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) comes as a standard safety feature while the dual airbags offered as an optional in lower end variants. It also offers a seat for 7 adults, though the last row can only accommodate kids.

Mahindra dealers have already started taking pre-orders for the compact SUV at a token amount of INR 10,000. While the Quanto was based on the Xylo's platform, the new NuvoSport SUV is based on the new Scorpio platform. With this sub-4 metre SUV, the company aims to target buyers looking for an affordable 7-seater SUV. 

The Mahindra NuvoSport has been designed and developed by Mahindra's in-house design team. In fact, the Research and Development work for the SUV was done at the company's Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai. Mahindra NuvoSport Engine Specifications-

Powering the NuvoSport is a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder engine that also powers the Quanto SUV. This diesel engine comes with two driving modes- Power and Economy. In power mode, this engine is capable of producing 100bhp of power at 3750rpm and 240Nm of torque between 1600-2800rpm. On the other hand, the engine produces 71.6bhp of power at 3250rpm and 180Nm of torque between 1600rpm and 2100rpm. Mahindra NuvoSport Price-
Slotted between the KUV100 and the TUV300, the Mahindra NuvoSport is expected to be priced in the range of INR 6 lakh to INR 8 lakh. 

Mahindra NuvoSport Mileage-

Powering the compact SUV is a 1.5-litre diesel engine, Which is claimed to return an ARAI certified Fuel economy of 17.45kmpl.

The sub-4 metre SUV directly rivals against the likes of the Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSport. The compact SUV comes in six variants- N4, N4+, N6, N6 AMT, N8 and N8 AMT. The range-topping variants of the compact SUV is equipped with high end features like eight-way adjustable seats with lumbar support, touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control and dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and others.
