At the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the homegrown automaker will unveil the highly acclaimed SsangYong Tivoli compact SUV. This SUV will be positioned above the TUV300 and will rival against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and the upcoming Honda BR-V SUV. Dimensionally, the SUV is 4,185mm long, 1,795mm wide and 1,590mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,600mm. Mahindra is likely to position the Tivoli as an urban SUV, as its SUV- the Scorpio – is more popular among semi-urban and rural buyers.
Internationally, the SsangYong Tivoli is available with two engine options- 124bhp, 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder petrol and 113bhp, 1.6-litre 4-cylinder diesel. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and an automatic unit. We expect that the India-spec model will get a 1.5-litre mHawk80 diesel engine that also powers the TUV300; however, engine is likely to be tuned to develop more power.
Talking about Quanto facelift, the compact SUV will share design cues with the Scorpio SUV. The front face will get major makeover; likely to get daytime running lamps, a sleek radiator grille and new bumper. The vehicle will also get an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) gearbox. It will be powered by the same three-cylinder 1.5-litre engine that is good for 84PS (81PS AMT variant) and 230Nm of torque.
