Mahindra U321 MPV (Toyota Innova Crysta rival) to Debut at Auto Expo 2018; Price in India, Launch Date, Engine Specifications, Interior & Images

Mahindra and Mahindra is soon expected to launch the Mahindra U321 MPV in India. The company will showcase the U321 MPV at the Auto Expo 2018, while Mr. Pawan Goenka has revealed that the Mahindra U321 will be lauched in India before the end of this fiscal. The U321 will be a premium MPV from the home-grown car maker and will be positioned between the Maruti Ertiga and the Toyota Innova Crysta. The Mahindra U321 has been designed and developed at the Mahindra North American Technical Center in Troy, Michigan, USA; while the car will be manufactured at the company’s Nasik facility. Also Read: Mahindra U321 MPV India launch in Q1 2018; S201 compact SUV launch by end 2018
Mahindra U321 MPV Spied Testing - Rear Profile
Ahead of its India launch, the Mahindra U321 MPV has been spied testing on innumerable occasions in India revealing the design of the MPV. The Mahindra U321 gets a U-shaped chrome grill with multiple slates, dual barrel headlamps assembly with projector units, LED DRLs on the fog lamps assembly and a wider air-dam. The side profile of the Mahindra U321 is going to be rather plain and simple with fewer cuts and creases and 5-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels. Since the Mahindra U321 MPV has to compete against the big boys, the MPV will feature a whole array of creature comforts, which will help it stand apart from its rivals. The cabin is likely to get leather upholstery, a dual-tone colour scheme, soft touch dashboard etc. In terms of features, the MPV gets a steering mounted controls, voice command feature, touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, rear air-con vents, a 7 and 8 seat configuration and rear parking camera with parking sensors among others. Speaking about the engine specifications, the Mahindra U321 MPV will be powered by a 1.6-litre mFalcon diesel engine that has been jointly developed in collaboration with SsangYong. Reports suggest that this engine will develop around 125 BHP of maximum power along with a peak torque of 305 Nm. This enigne will come mated to a 6-speed manual as well as a 6-speed automatic transmission. As far as the pricing is concerned, we expect Mahindra to launch the U321 MPV at an aggressive price range of INR 10 lakh to INR 15 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon its launch, the Mahindra U321 will primarily rival against the likes of the Toyota Innova Crysta and the Tata Hexa.
