Mahindra XUV500 W4 variant launched at Rs 10.83 lakh

The W4 will be sold alongside the existing range which includes the W6, the W8 and the W8 AWD variants.

Mahindra has added a new entry-level variant of its flagship offering – the XUV 500. Priced at Rs 10.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the new W4 variant joins the model’s existing range which includes the W6, the W8 and the W8 AWD.

Compared to the higher grade variants, the new W4 loses out on front fog lamps, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, steering mounted audio controls and cornering lights. The infotainment system, too, is a basic unit with four speakers. Mahindra however has done well by retaining the projector headlamps with LEDs, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and disc brakes on all four corners.

The XUV500 W4 is powered by the same 2.2-litre mHwak engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Producing a healthy 140PS of power and 330Nm of torque, the Mahindra claims a fuel efficiency of 15.1 kmpl for the W4 variant.
