Maruti Ertiga 2018 is undoubtedly one of the most awaited products for the year which will be making its public debut at the biennial motor show next month. The new generation MPV has been spotted under camouflage while testing on Indian roads in the past. Yet again, the new Ertiga 2018 has been spotted testing wrapped under covers ahead of its India launch which is likely to happen around August this year as per the previous media reports. Going by the new spy shots, the test mule sports new wrapped around tail light cluster design, new rear bumper, upright rear hatch and much more. Previous spy shots revealed that the rear section will sport LED tail lights. A longer overhang at the rear will create more space for the passengers as well as luggage. Internally code-named as YHA, the next generation will be based on Suzuki’s new Heartect platform which as the fact that it is more rigid, stiffer and light in weight as compared to previous platform. New-Maruti-Ertiga-2018-ConceptUnder the hood, the new Ertiga will continue to be seen in both petrol and diesel avatars like the current model. The petrol variant is expected to be powered by the same 1.4-litre K Series VVT petrol mill that is capable of making max power of 94 Bhp and 130Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the current 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine is expected to create space for the all-new 1.5-litre diesel unit. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the same. Transmission duties on the new Ertiga are speculated to be carried out by a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. There is no official word regarding the AMT gearbox, as of now. It was previously also reported that the new Ertiga 2018 could be retailed in the domestic market via Maruti’s premium dealership network – NEXA. Inside the cabin, the new Ertiga is expected to get Dzire like treatment featuring touchscreen infotainment system, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and more. Lastly, the new generation avatar of 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga could fall in the price bracket of INR 7 lakh – 11 lakh (ex-showroom) which compete against Renault Lodgy, Mahindra U321 MPV and others in the segment once launched.
