Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 now available with airbag

Also, VXi variant to be made available in CNG soon, says report.  

Entry level cars aren't generally considered very safe but Maruti Suzuki has just made an effort to change the notion. It has made its entry level small car, Alto 800 a lot safer, with the inclusion of optional airbag. 

In a report by CarWale, it has been revealed that MSIL has launched airbag equipped variants of the Alto 800 at a slightly higher price. While Alto 800 VXi(with airbag) is about Rs 18,000 dearer than the regular VXi, getting an airbag for the LXi variant is even cheaper at just about Rs 16,000. Mechanicals remain unchanged, with the 796cc 48PS petrol engine powering the small car but the same report also suggest that CNG power will be available on the better equipped VXi variant too, in the coming months. 

Alto 800 is available in a total of four variants (Std, LX, LXi and VXi) and with the option of getting an airbag, it now makes more sense to choose the latter two.
