As the competition gets tough and the buyer sentiment changes towards premium vehicles, country’s leading automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has now lined up a number of new launches for the Indian car market. These new arrivals will include the debut of next-gen products of the existing models as well as the introduction of new brand altogether. With updated safety and emission norms coming into place, Maruti plans to revamp its entire portfolio, the work on which has already commenced with several launches already under the automaker’s belt. Next-gen Maruti Alto 800

India’s largest selling car, consecutively since the last 13 years, the Maruti Suzuki Alto is due for a next-generation update which will be arriving in the country withing the next two to three years. Though the specifics of this update are still under the wraps, but what could be safety speculated is that the next-gen Alto is to be a completely new vehicle from the ground up. The design, chassis, engine specs will be completely new to meet the changing norms as well as the buyer sentiment.  The next-gen Alto could get a crossover-ish design, improved feature list along with the introduction of a new set of engines and transmission options. 2016 Maruti Swift Dzire

India’s favorite compact sedan, the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire will also be getting a next-generation update. Based on the next-generation Swift, the Dzire will sport a completely different exterior profile along with a revamped interior layout as well. 2016 Maruti Swift

After a successful run, Maruti Suzuki will provide its compact hatchback Swift with its next-generation update this year. Already unveiled in the international markets, the 2016 Swift features a sharp and much more contemporary exterior profile along with a premium interiors. The engine specs of this new-age Swift will remain the same as before. This hatchback is coming to India by the second half of 2017. Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol

Banking in the immense success of the Vitara Brezza, Maruti Suzuki is in works of introducing the petrol derivative of the same. Though not confirmed, this new variant could feature the Baleno RS’s 1.0-litre booster engine or Maruti could either opt for the Ciaz’s 1.4-litre unit. The rest of the specifics of the Brezza will remain the same as before.

Maruti Grand Vitara

By the year 2019, Maruti Suzuki could reconsider introducing the Grand Vitara brand in the Indian car market. In its current form, this premium SUV was not able to garner that much of an enthusiastic response however with the changing trend, things look different. The next-generation model is to be quite premium and much more contemporary, hence offering a tough competition to the rivals.

Maruti Jimny

In replacement to the Maruti Gypsy, the Indo-Japanese automaker is to launch the Jumny in the Indian car market. This 4×4 is to be based on the same platform which also underpins the Ignis and Baleno. Engine specs are yet to be revealed but its is likely that it could either get a 1.0-litre boosterjet of the 1.4-litre boosterjet engine.
