Set to rival against the likes of Chevrolet Beat, Hyundai Grand i10 and Ford Figo, the Celerio diesel is now the country's most fuel efficient car. Under the bonnet is a newly developed 793cc, twin-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 47bhp of power at 3,500rpm and 125Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. This engine is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox which sends the power to front wheels. It is claimed to return an impressive ARAI certified fuel economy of 27.62kmpl, beating Maruti Swift Dzire that returns 26.59kmpl.

The in-house developed 793cc engine is basically an aluminum engine block, which is about 60 per cent lighter than the cast iron engines. The motor weighs just 89kgs, resulting into high fuel efficiency and performance.

The top-spec ZDi (O) Celerio diesel is equipped with decent comfort and safety features such as ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic BrakeForce Distribution), dual front airbags, front fog lamps, alloy wheels and height adjustable driver seat. The ZDi trim has driver side airbag, audio with Bluetooth, auto unlock on crash, multi-functional steering wheel, keyless entry and electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated blinkers as standard features.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio colors– Sunshine Ray, Cerulean Blue, Silky Silver, Blazing Red, Pearl Arctic White and Glistering Grey.
