Maruti Suzuki has today launched the sporty version of the Celerio in the country – the Maruti Suzuki CelerioX. The car has been priced in India from INR 4.57 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base variant while the top-end Zxi (O) AMT variant is priced at INR 5.42 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). According to Maruti Suzuki, the car is aimed young, progressive and aspirational buyers, looking for a sporty small hatchback. The new CelerioX gets an aerodynamically designed X-theme based graphic around the front grille, plastic body cladding and a new rear bumper with skid plate. As compared to the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, the CelerioX also sports high gloss black accents on the fog lamps cluster, front grille, roof rails and wheel caps. Maruti Suzuki anticipates the all-new CelerioX to provide a big boost to the sales of brand Celerio. The company has sold over 3 lakh units of Celerio in the country since launch. The new CelerioX now gets an all-new Paprika Orange colour option along with existing colours like Arctic White, Glistening Grey, Caffeine Brown and Torque Blue. The Maruti CelerioX comes equipped with driver-side airbag as standard. That said, the car also gets optional passenger airbags and ABS as an option across trim levels, while driver side seat-belt reminder is standard, which encourages use of seat belts. On the interior front, the car gets new all-black interiors with white accents, black seat upholstery with orange accents. The CelerioX is powered by a 1.0-litre K-series petrol engine producing 67 BHP of power and 91 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox along with a 5-speed AGS (Auto GearShift) transmission.
