We recently reported about Maruti Suzuki testing the new 2017 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift in Delhi-NCR. Now, the same car has been spotted yet again without any camouflage, which reveals few details. Likely to be the Zeta trim levels of the Maruti Ciaz, the car is speculated to get an auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers’ sensor, according to the spy images. The report also suggests that the car was equipped with an automatic shift lever, suggesting that the car will most likely get a CVT automatic transmission. The car features a 2-DIN audio system and smaller 15-inch alloy wheels, while the front and rear fog lamp cluster aren’t camouflaged. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz 2017 Facelift Front Profile Spied
As can be seen from the spy images, the front and rear fog lamps cluster is similar to the current model while the previous spy shots had this area covered with a black wrap. This also make us believe that Maruti Suzuki might be testing the fuel economy of the CVT automatic variant. There is also speculation that the company might remove SHVS hybrid tech from the car in order to minimize costs. That said, the biggest change is on the insides of the car. The new Maruti Ciaz facelift will get an updated instrument cluster with what seems like a bigger MID unit. Moreover, the speedometer and tachometer dials are new as well. The area above the center console is wrapped in black masking tapes, suggesting the presence of new wooden inlays on the dashboard.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift Interiors
While we are not sure about the features list on the facelift model, the new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz might get new features like auto headlamps, cruise control and rain sensing wipers. The car will continue to come equipped with existing features like touch-screen infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, reverse camera, parking sensors, engine start/stop button and the likes. Safety features will include dual airbags, ABS with EBD and ESP among others while the company might also consider equipping the car with curtain and side airbags. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz 2017 Facelift Rear Profile Spied
Being a facelift, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Ciaz 2017 facelift is expected to get the same engine options. This means that there will be the same choice of two engines: a 1.3-litre petrol and 1.2-litre diesel. The petrol engine will deliver 91 bhp of power and 130 Nm of torque. The diesel engine will deliver 89 bhp and 200 Nm, that delivers class-leading mileage with the help of the SHVS( Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) mild hybrid technologyat present. Transmission duties will be served by a five-speed manual and four-speed automatic, although the diesel engine only gets the manual gearbox. Maruti Suzuki might consider introducing a bigger 1.6-litre DDiS diesel engine while the 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine can make an entry with the RS badge, but these are just our speculations. Currently, the Ciaz is available in four variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha – as is the case with all Nexa models. The Ciaz will take on the Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento, Hyundai Verna, Honda City and other premium mid-size sedans. Expect a slight bump in price for the Ciaz facelift.
