Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift 2017 India launch likely by this year end

The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift 2017 is expected to get minor feature updates along with a few aesthetic modifications as well.

The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is soon going to receive its mid-life facelift and it is likely that the same will arrive on the Indian shores by the end of this year itself. Recently, Maruti migrated the Ciaz from its regular chain of dealerships to its premium NEXA outlet. Even after this, this c-segment sedan emerged as the segment leader for two months in a row. For April, right after the migration, Maruti sold 7024 units of the Ciaz while in May 2017, its sold 4700, both times, the highest in the segment. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift 2017 is to arrive with a number of feature updates along with a several tweaks done to the car’s exterior profile as well. The Ciaz facelift’s exterior profile will remain almost identical to current gen model. The only major modifications which are to be done will be concentrated primarily towards the front and the rear bumper. The front bumper could get more augmented edges, providing the car with a sportier look, also expect chrome highlights around the fog-lamps. The rear bumper too will receive some changes. The Ciaz facelift could get rain-sensing wipers, LED DRLs and projector headlamps on the top spec versions. Coming to the interiors, the Ciaz facelift’s cabin will be almost identical to the current spec model. The cabin upholstery, as well as the material quality are to remain the same. The changes expected are modifications done to the instrument cluster and center console. Maruti could include a few elements to make the Ciaz a more premium alternative than what it already is.

As far as the engine specifications of the Maruti Ciaz facelift are concerned, they are likely to remain the same as before. The petrol derivative will be powered by a 1.4-litre engine while the diesel is to get the same 1.3-litre unit. However going by the speculations, it could be that Maruti might just introduce a bigger 1.5-litre diesel motor. Going for the prices, the Maruti Ciaz facelift will continue to retail 7.5 lakh to 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom). This will make it compete against the likes of Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Nissan Sunny and the soon to be launched Toyota Vios.
