We informed you earlier that Maruti Suzuki is soon going to start retailing its popular c-segment sedan, the Ciaz through its NEXA dealership outlets. Now it is to be believed that the Indo-Japanese automaker is going to do the same starting from April 1 2017. The shift comes with a minor update to the vehicle, not in terms of its design or mechanical’s but with the introduction of a new exterior paint job, the standard NEXA blue.

So far, Maruti Suzuki has sold close to 1.50 lakh units of the Ciaz in the Indian car market with over 5000 units sold each month. The move to NEXA comes at such a later stage because the automaker was waiting before this premium dealership outlet has its foot well established, ensuring a greater reach for such a popular product like that of the Ciaz. Currently, there are close to 250 NEXA dealership outlets in India.

The Ciaz will now join other Maruti products which currently are sold through the NEXA outlets which include the likes of Maruti Ignis, Maruti S-Cross, Maruti Baleno and Maruti Baleno RS. Do Read: Maruti Ciaz SHVS Smart Hybrid features huge discount

Apart from the introduction of a new paint scheme, the Ciaz remain identical to the model which was sold through Maruti’s regular dealership outlets. It is expected that the prices too will remain similar with no increase whatsoever. The base variant will continue to retail at INR 7.30 lakh while the top of the line model going for INR 10.52 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).  Also Read: Maruti Suzuki sells one lakh smart hybrid vehicles in India

The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is currently offered in both petrol as well as diesel trims. The former gets a 1.3-litre K-Series engine churning out 94Bhp along with 134Nm of peak torque. The later is good for churning out 88Bhp along with 200Nm of peak torque. The transmission responsibilities are handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox. There is also a 4-speed automatic transmission available to pick with the petrol derivative.

The SHVS diesel trim, now when sold through the NEXA chain of dealerships will sport the ‘Smart Hybrid’ badge instead of the earlier ‘SHVS’ one.
