Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Z+ Launched: Price in India starts at INR 9.08 lakhs for top variant of Maruti Ciaz

When Maruti Suzuki India launched the mid-segment sedan Ciaz last year it became an instant hit. Launched as a direct competitor to Honda City, the car offered some of the most premium features in the class at a much lesser price point than its contenders. Now Maruti has introduced an upgraded top variant, Ciaz Z+ for both the petrol and diesel trims. The Ciaz Z+ is available in both petrol (ZXi+) and diesel (ZDi+) versions, priced at INR 9.08 lakhs and INR 10.37 lakhs respectively.

As both the variants are just new top-end trims, the Ciaz remains same both on design front and engine specifications. Having said that, the new Ciaz Z+ does come with some value additions in the form of premium styling, cool gizmos and new 16 inch alloys.

Apart from the features offered in the Z variant inside the new Z+, Maruti offers you a 7-inch SmartPlay infotainment system with navigation and voice command. The Ciaz Z+ also comes with new premium leather upholstery and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The Ciaz Z+ is powered by the same 1.4-litre petrol engine (98bhp and 130Nm) and a 1.3-litre diesel engine (88.5bhp and 200Nm), both mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. In terms of fuel economy, Maruti claims the Ciaz Z+ can return 20.73 kmpl for the petrol variant and 26.3 kmpl for the diesel.

In terms of price the Ciaz still costs you less than its competitor Honda City. The Honda City's top-end diesel variant costs around INR 11.60 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the Ciaz's top-of-the-line diesel comes at INR 10.37 lakhs, which is about INR 1.23 lakhs cheaper than the former. Whereas, the petrol top-end model of Ciaz is about INR 2 lakh cheaper than that of the City's top-end variant.
