Maruti Suzuki has teased an all-new concept that will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2018. The Maruti Suzuki Concept Future S will make its Global Preview at the biennial expo that will be held in Greater Noida from 7th February to 14th February, 2018. The new Maruti Future S Concept is a compact SUV is a sub-4m car that will be positioned below the Vitara Brezza. The Maruti Suzuki Concept Future S reveals the distinctive two-box design of compact SUV with the upright stance, higher seating with increased ground clearance. The Concept Future S gets a high-set horizontal bonnet, a unique A-pillar design and a broad shoulder line that gives it a butch appearance. With the Concept Future S, Maruti Suzuki is planning to re-define the compact car design language in the country. The Maruti Suzuki Future S is expected to around 200 mm shorter than the Vitara Brezza. C.V Raman, Sr. Executive Director Engineering, Maruti Suzuki, said “We have to see how much lower we can go below the Brezza, and this is something we are experimenting with in terms of proportions and design. The production version of the Maruti Concept Future S is expected to be launched in the country by the end of 2018 or early 2019. The Concept Future S will be based on the light weight ‘HEARTECT’ platform and will be powered by the 1.2-litre petrol engine. The production version is also expected to get Suzuki’s in-house developed 1.5-litre diesel engine, albeit with a lower state of tune. Speaking about the ‘Concept Future S’, Mr. CV Raman, Senior Executive Director Engineering, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “The increasing preference for UVs and their bold architecture inspired our design team to study a new character for compact cars. ConceptFutureS could mark a distinctive shift in how compact cars are shaped and designed in India in the future.” The Concept Future S is a big step-up in terms of design language and will make its global premiere at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo in February. The company will reveal more details about the concept in the run-up to the Expo.
