Maruti Suzuki Ignis Delta variant in high demand; comprises of 50 percent of total bookings

Not only this, buyers have shown a particular inclination towards the petrol derivative of the Ignis and hence it constitutes to about 7 out of 10 cars sold.

The recently launched Maruti Suzuki Ignis seems to picked up pace in the Indian car market as within just two months of its debut, the same has managed to sell more than 10,000 units. Not only this, the demand for this urban compact hatchback is such that there are still 12,000 bookings which still needs to be delivered.

Now according to a report published in ET Auto, out of the total amount of bookings received for the Maruti Ignis, about 50 percent are for the Delta trim. The Ignis is currently available in a total of 4 trims which are namely the Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha.

Not only this, the report further suggests that out of the every 10 Ignis sold, 7 are those of the petrol derivative with the rest being for the diesel one. Maruti Ignis comes with a 1.2-litre petrol motor which is good for 82Bhp of power along with 113Nm of peak torque. Interestingly, the AMT equipped versions of the Ignis too are been readily accepted by customers in India as out of every 10 cars sold, 2 have been for the AMT equipped version. Currently, the Maruti Ignis is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard while the buyers of Delta and Zeta versions for both petrol and diesel derivatives can opt for a 5-speed AMT as well. Talking about prices, the Maruti Suzuki Ignis starts at a base price of INR 4.59 lakh with the top of the line model retailing at INR 7.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
