Maruti Suzuki records 20.6 percent growth in sales for July 2017: Vitara Brezza, Baleno, Swift & Ertiga emerge as major players

Maruti Suzuki sold 154,001 units in the domestic market for the month of Jul 2017, registering a growth of 22.4 percent.

For the month of July 2017, Maruti Suzuki India limited recorded a growth of 20.6 percent by selling a cumulative (domestic + export) of 165,346 units in the said month. For the same month last year, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 137,116 units. Talking a stock of individual sales, in the domestic market, for the month of July 2017, the automaker sold 154,001 units, an up from 125,778 units sold in July 2016. This leads to an increase in sales of 22.4 percent. Talking about the exports, this too has recorded a growth, though very marginal of just 0.1 percent with July 2017 sales standing at 11,345 units as opposed to 11,338 units for July 2016. Major players contributing to this rather impressive surge in the sales for Maruti Suzuki are the likes of Vitara Brezza, Baleno, Ignis, Swift and the Ertiga. In the utility segment, the automaker sold a total of 25,781 units for July 2017 while this number stood at 17,382 units for the same period last year. Maruti Suzuki’s largest selling product, the Alto, comprising the mini segment along with the Wagon R, sold a total of 42,310 units in July 2017; the same segment sold a total of 35,051 units for July 2016, registering a growth of 20.7 percent. The compact segment for Maruti Suzuki, which included the likes of the Baleno, Swift, Ignis and Dzire, for the month of July 2017, sold a total of 63,116 units, opposed to 50,362 units during the same month last year. Maruti Suzuki’s C-segment sedan, the Ciaz too registered an impressive growth of 23.5 percent by selling 6,377 units for July 2017 in comparison to 5,162 units for the same month last year. Maruti Suzuki has been observing quite a motivated sales for the Q1 of the current fiscal. The automaker observed a market share of 50.5 percent in the PV segment during the said period, a jump from the 46.2 percent during the previous fiscal. The automaker expects the sales to further increase with the approaching festive season and also with a plethora of new products lined up.
