Maruti Suzuki Stingray AMT: 5 things you should know

Based on Stingray’s VXI variant:

The new Maruti Suzuki Stingray is based on the standard top-of-the-line variant VXi. The car offers every single feature that you get in the standard model with the addition of some new features and an auto transmission unit. The car will also come in VXi(O) variant that will host the new additional features.

 

New Efficient AMT Gearbox:

The new variant of Maruti Suzuki Stingray hatchback comes paired to a smart AMT gearbox or as Maruti likes to call it auto gear shift (AGS).  It is a low-cost yet efficient auto transmission system that features an intelligent shift control actuator that automatically performs clutch and shift operations. Is the same 5-speed unit that is mated that comes with the Maruti Celerio and Alto K10.

 

New Safety Features:

The entire range of Maruti Suzuki Stingray comes with a number of new safety additions and features. The company will be offering an optional driver and passenger side airbags along with ABS (Anti-lock Breaking System) across all variants including the base variant. Furthermore the Stingray AMT also offers standard safety features like energy absorbing body structure with side-impact beams, rear wiper, washer and defogger, Front fog lamps and  intelligent computerised Anti- theft system (i-CATS) among others.

 

Engine Specifications:

The new Stingray AMT features no new additions under the hood. The car is still powered by the same 998cc, K10B petrol engine that produces 68 PS of maximum power and 90 Nm of peak torque. Apart from the new Auto transmission unit, the car still continues to offers its older 5-speed manual transmission gearbox as well.

 

Price and Fuel Efficiency:

 Maruti has priced the new Stingray AMT in two price options INR 4.98 for the VXi and INR 5.31 lakh for VXi (O) (Both ex-showroom Delhi). As for fuel efficiency, the new Maruti Suzuki Stingray continues to deliver a mileage of 20.51Kmpl even with the new auto transmission unit.
