The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza petrol is likely to be powered by the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder Boosterjet engine which currently propels the Maruti Baleno RS. India launch expected this festive season.

Banking on the huge success achieved by the Vitara Brezza, Maruti Suzuki, country’s largest automotive manufacturer is all set to launch the petrol derivative of this sub-compact SUV in our country this festive season. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza petrol is expected to be powered by the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder Boosterjet engine which currently does its duty on the Maruti Baleno RS. However, it could also be the case that the Vitara Brezza petrol gets the 1.4-litre VVT, naturally aspirated gasoline motor out of the Maruti Ciaz sedan. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza was launched comparatively quite late in the sub-compact SUV space, still it manages to soon climb up to the top step of the podium, that too being available in just a diesel derivative. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Petrol Expected Price: The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Petrol is expected to fall in the price bracket of INR 6.5 lakh to INR 7.5 lakh (ex-showroom). This will pitch the compact SUV in direct competition to the Ford EcoSport’s petrol derivatives which are priced in-between the range of INR 6.68 lakh to INR 9.45 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Petrol Launch Date:  Maruti Suzuki has given no official confirmation on as to when it will launch the Vitara Brezza Petrol in India. However, going by the recent media reports, it is can be speculated that the same will make its official debut in our country by the end of this year, effectively around the time of Diwali. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Petrol Engine Specifications: No concrete information exists on as to which engine will be plonked into the Vitara Brezza Petrol, however, it could either be the 1.4-litre unit which currently powers the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz or the 1.0-litre unit which drives the Maruti Baleno RS. The former is a 4-cylinder unit churning out 94Bhp along with 134Nm of peak torque while the later is a 3-cylinder, turbocharged unit producing 101Bhp along with 150Nm of peak torque. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Petrol Mileage: Talking about the mileage of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza’s petrol derivative, expect the same to range in-between 17 to 18km/l. The diesel derivative, powered by the 1.3-litre unit gives out 24.3km/l.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Petrol Safety Features: The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Petrol will come with all the safety features which are found on the Brezza’s diesel derivative. There will be no change whatsoever, the difference is going to be the replacement of the exterior DDiS badge with the VVT badge, indication the petrol engine under the hood. It will continue to come with projector headlamps, LED DRLS, LED tail-lamps, a sturdy SUV-ish profile, bold character lines along with a compact size.
