The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has broken its own record for the highest ever monthly sales for May 2017 with 12,375 units sold. For April 2017, Maruti sold a total of 10,653 units of the Brezza, the highest at that point of time. The Vitara Brezza has been quite a strong player for Maruti Suzuki right from the start despite the fact of it being available only in a diesel derivative in comparison to its competition, the Ford EcoSport which comes in both petrol as well as diesel guises. The demand for this UV is such that even after almost a year of its launch, the waiting period continues to stay above three months. Maruti Suzuki is mulling over launching a petrol derivative of the Vitara Brezza soon in India. Though not confirmed yet, it is speculated that the same could very well be powered by the same 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine which was introduced with the Baleno RS. The engine churns out 101bhp of power along with 150Nm of peak torque and is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Currently, the Brezza is equipped with a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine, capable of churning out 89Bhp along with 200Nm of peak torque. Gearbox unit is a 5-speed assembly. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is available in a total of 6 different variants, these are LDI, LDI (O), VDI, VDI (O), ZDI and ZDI+. It is to be believed that the maximum number of demand is for the top of the line ZDI+ varinat which comes loaded with features like steering mounted audio controls, touchscreen Smartplay infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, automatic climate control, engine start-stop function, leather upholstery for seats, steering and gear knob, mood lighting on the instrument cluster among the others. In terms of safety, the Vitara Brezza is offered with dual front airbags, ABS (Anti-lock braking system) and EBD (Electronic Brakeforce distribution) on the top end variant while they are available as an optional safety pack in the base trim. The Brezza is offered with a choice of 6 different exterior colour schemes. Not only this, buyers can also go for individual customization options. Under this a number of fixed styling packages along with various a-la-carte specifications as well, both both exterior and interior. Talking about the prices, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza’s base variant retails at INR 7.19 lakh while the top of the line version costs INR 9.66 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Brezza primarily competes against the likes of Ford EcoSport and the Mahindra TUV300.
