The tax benefits offered by the Indian govt. for cars less than four meters in length is a tempting opportunity. Maruti has decided to put it to good use by shortening the length of the Swift Dzire. The Dzire is currently 4.16 meters and attracts a duty of 22 per cent, as against 10 per cent for the smaller cars. We don’t anticipate too many changes in the interiors and the car will be powered by the same 1200cc petrol and 1250cc diesel engines as on the current Dzire.
