Maserati could shift to Pentastar V6 engine

The Maserati Quattroporte and GranTurismo line-up which was recently launched in India as a part of the ongoing crore-rupee onslaught on the Indian market could now shift to smaller engines than the ones that currently power them. The musical Ferrari V8s that currently do duty under the Maseratis’ hood could very well be replaced by smaller engine capacities in the wake of fuel efficiency regulations being incorporated by various governments around the world.

There is a word that the Maserati Quattroporte and GranTurismo could look at Chrysler’s Pentastar V6 engines. The Pentastar V6 engines in their 3.0-litre twin-turbo guise could be the obvious choice owing to their 280 PS power output. The Fiat-Chrysler partnership could help smoothen this deal if it happens.
