British supercar maker McLaren has began production of its latest P1 hybrid supercar. The brand’s spokesperson has reportedly confirmed the news at a dealership presentation held recently in Holland. However, the announcement hasn’t been made official from McLaren just yet.
When asked where the first example of the P1 is headed to, the spokesperson declined to reveal by saying “Our customers have houses all over the world. They ultimately determine where the P1 comes out”.
With only 375 examples headed for production, the McLaren P1 will be a rare sight to behold even by supercar standards. The car will be powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine paired with an electric motor. With a combined power output of 916PS and 900Nm of torque, the P1 is claimed to hit 100 kmph from standstill in less than 3 seconds and a top speed of 350kmph.
