Mercedes Benz C-Class AMG Performance Edition launched in India

The Performance Edition with added AMG Sports Package has been launched at Rs 34.62 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai.)

Just two days back, we had reported that Mercedes Benz is planning to expand its AMG line-up in India with a special edition C-Class that will go on sale in the country later this month. And today, at an event held in Mumbai, the Indian division of Mercedes Benz have ushered in the new C-Class AMG Performance Edition with added AMG Sports Package at Rs 34,62,609 (ex-showroom, Mumbai) that will be available on sale immediately. 

 

The move from Mercedes Benz of bringing in a Performance Edition of the C-Class comes at a time when Audi just recently launched the performance edition of its A4 in the form of Audi S4 at Rs 45.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra) and also while, BMW is gearing up to launch the new 3-Series in the Indian market, sometime in July 2012.

The C-Class 250 CDI Avant-garde has been hailed as the most aggressive vehicle in its class in terms of handling and driving dynamics and now the added AMG Sports Package will only add to C-Class's aggression with sportier exteriors, refined interiors and enhanced driving dynamics.

The AMG Sports Package in the new C-Class AMG Performance Edition provides a superlative look to the interior with a new instrument cluster, which features the 3 analogue dials with tapered tube-style surrounds and a high-resolution 4.50inch TFT color display. The Performance Edition also wears aluminum brushed gearshift with leather gaiter, a brushed stainless steel AMG sports pedals with black rubber and a headlining in black fabric. The floor mats now come in black with AMG lettering pronounced.

On the outside, the Performance Edition C-Class apart from sporting its aggressive stance, wears 17-inch AMG, 5-twin spoke light alloy wheels, perforated front disc brakes and sports suspension.
