Design and Exterior:
The Indian automotive market has become more demanding and today many buyers opt for younger and sportier looking model. And the Mercedes CLA-Class specifically designed for such kind of people. The CLA-Class is much sleeker and compact compared to Mercedes-Benz’s flagship sedans and shares the same underpinning as the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, B-Class and the recently launched GLA-Class. Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class shares a number of aspects with A-Class like the floating dots grille, massively sculpted air intakes and chin spoiler that sits rather prominently in the front. The coupe-like appearance, frameless doors and 17 inch wheels gives the CLA-Class gives it a stance differentiating it form other.
Interiors and Features:
Inside the CLA-Class you get the same overall design as its hatchback and MPV sibling, the quality, the fit and finish and the choice of materials and everything. Tough all these are up to the mark of the Mercedes-Benz name a little uniqueness would have been appreciated. As for the space the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class is well suited for four persons rather than five mainly because of limited yet stylishly comfortable cabin space and coupe styled tight roofline.
The list of bling-blings that comes with the CLA-Class are – two-zone climate control for the diesel variant, and a manual single zone unit for petrol. Moreover it also gets a larger tablet like display with updated infotainment system, sunroof, reversing camera and electrically adjustable memory seats. The fancy safety bits like airbags, attention assist and ESP come as standard feature.

Engine Specification:
Unlike its hatchback counterparts the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class offers both petrol and diesel variants. The CLA-Class comes with a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 183.5PS of peak power and 300Nm of peak torque. As for the diesel variants it comes with a new 2.2-litre oil-burner, capable of churning out 136PS of peak power and 300Nm of peak torque. Both the petrol and diesel engines will be mated to Mercedes-Benz’s tried and tested 7G-DCT automatic transmission with a dual clutch setup.
Fuel efficiency and Price:
Being a performance oriented car you cannot expect much from the likes of CLA-Class, but what it’s offering here quite noteworthy. The company claimed figure for the diesel variant just under 18kmpl under test conditions while the petrol's ARAI figure is rated at over 15kmpl. The Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class comes packed with a lot of features that makes it quite a compelling package, which will cost you in the range of INR 30 – 35 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
