Mercedes Benz S63 AMG coupe spied

The S-Class coupe range could be out by the middle of next year.

Following spy shots of the standard S-Class coupe spied on a number of occasions, the more powerful S63 AMG coupe has also been caught on camera, suggesting that Mercedes will also add a V8 powered high-performance model in typical AMG guise.

The S-Class coupe concept shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show previews the production model which is due next year.

The S63 AMG coupe will be powered by the same 5.5-litre twin turbo V8 that also powers the standard S63 AMG sedan. Producing close to 580PS of power, the coupe will be able to accelerate from zero to 100kmph in around 4.3 seconds, with a top speed of close to 300kmph.   

Expect Mercedes to showcase this new model at next year’s Geneva Motor Show in March, before putting it on sale later during the year.
