Mercedes Benz to launch BMW 3-series GT like Sportcoupe, says report

The car is expected to go on sale in 2015.

Mercedes Benz is ready to bring out the new C-Class in a few months time (have a look at the teaser video here) but that's not all.

According to Autocar UK, the German carmaker is also planning to bring a new body style for the C-Class. To be called Sportcoupe, this car will sport a similar layout as BMW's 3-series GT, that is with a hatchback and not a regular three box design. While it sounds good enough to give competition to BMW 3 GT and Audi A5 Sportback, the added length on the wheelbase will make sure that it's practical too. It's expected to go on sale in 2015.

The C-Class range will go bigger than what it is now, especially with the introduction of new variants like this. The other version that could see the light would be a cabriolet. We are quite sure that when the C-Class cabriolet makes it to the market, it will look classier than its rivals with metal roofs.
