BMW India is today launching the all-new BMW 5-Series in India. We will be at the media launch of the car, but fret not, as we will bring you the live streaming of the event in Mumbai. That said, the new 5-Series 2017 was first showcased at the North American International Auto Show in 2016. The car will be imported in the country via the CKD route and will be assembled locally at the company’s facility near Chennai. Bookings for the car are already underway at an amount of 2 lakh while deliveries will start from July 1, 2017. Mercedes Benz recently launched the E-Class LWB while Volvo has also launched the new S90 in the Indian market. In order to compete against these established players in the luxury segment, an all-new BMW 5-Series was long overdue, which will also rival the Audi A6 in India.
The new 2017 BMW 5-Series gets a number of design and feature updates. Design wise, the new 5-Series takes its design inspiration from the latest generation 7-Series. We get LED headlights and DRLs, the signature kidney grille, massive alloy wheels and full LED taillights. Inside the cabin, the car gets updated interiors that are plush and provide a premium feel. On the features front, the new 5-Series will come equipped with features like a 10.25-inch touch-screen infotainment system, voice command and navigation, dynamic cruise control (DCC), active cruise control (ACC), automatic climate control and Bluetooth telephony among others.
