Unveiled at the Moscow Motor Show last year, the new BMW X6 gets changes to both exteriors and interiors. The vehicle is produced in a joint development programme with the third-gen X5 at BMW's factory in South Carolina. The new generation BMW X6 SUV will come to India as CBU (Completely Built up Unit).
The new BMW X6 features the same silhouette, but it is now gets bolder front and rear look. Dimensionally, the SUV is 4,909mm in length, 1,989mm in width and 1,702mm in height. It is 34mm longer, 4mm wider and 12mm higher than the outgoing model; however, the wheelbase has been reduced by 2mm, to 1,933mm. Adding to it, the SUV is 40kg lighter than the outgoing car. The vehicle gets a restyled dashboard and heavily contoured seats.
The new BMW X6 is expected to be powered by a 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel engine that is capable of producing 313bhp of power and 630Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all-4 wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV accelerates to 100kmph from zero in mere 5.8 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 240kmph.
