Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has released its sales figures for the month of October 2017. According to the sales data, Maruti Suzuki has registered a sales growth of 9.5 percent in October 2017 as compared to the same period last year. The company managed to sell a total of 146,446 units in October 2017, which includes 136,000 units sold in the domestic market along with total exports of 10,446 units. As a remainder, Maruti Suzuki had sold a total of 133,793 units in October 2016. That said, Maruti Suzukis volume drivers – Alto and WagonR have seen a dip in sales by 4.2 percent to 32,490 units in October 2017 as compared to 33,929 units sold in the same period last year. The recently launched Maruti DZire has been a roaring success for the company, which has helped the company to register higher sales in the compact cars segment. Marutis compact cars segment, which includes cars like Swift, Celerio, Ritz, Ignis, Dzire, Baleno and Dzire Tour S, registered sales of 62,480 units, thereby registering a growth of 24.7 percent in October 2017. During the same period last year, Maruti Suzuki had sold 50,116 units of the compact cars. That said, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz saw a decline in sales by 35.4 percent. The company managed to sell 4,107 units of the Ciaz in October 2017 as against 6,360 units sold during the same month last year.
