Hyundai India, country’s second largest car maker has confirmed its participation at the Auto Expo 2018 which is just few days away. The South Korean manufacturer will be showcasing 15 products at its pavilion during the motor show. This product line-up will include Kona SUV, Ioniq sedan, i20 facelift, i20 Active facelift and Santro 2018. Talking about the Santro, the car maker previously confirmed the arrival of new generation Santro in the domestic market. Moreover, the car maker is also planning to invest approximately INR 6,300 crore in the span of 3 years for new products, new engines and new offices. The company is focusing on launching 9 products by the year 2020 including EVs and Santro. The new Santro will be introduced as a replacement for the ageing i10, thus finding its place in between Eon and Grand i10. Retaining its true tall boy design, the new Hyundai Santro will be based on the new platform which is employed in Kia cars. Internally code-named as AH2, the South Korean automaker will be looking to launch the hatchback with a competitive price tag. The next-generation Santro is expected to hit the Indian market during the festive period this year. As per the previous spy shots, it is believed that the new Santro will sport contemporary design featuring a cascading grille upfront along new headlights, new fog lamps, new bumper and much more. Inside the cabin, the overall layout of the dashboard will be heavily updated with dual tone seats and door panel. As far as the powerhouse options are concerned, the new Hyundai Santro will be offered in 2 engine options – 0.8-litre and 1.1-litre iRDE. The transmission duties will be carried out by a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard along with AMT unit. In terms of pricing, the new 2018 Hyundai Santro is expected to be priced in the range of INR 4 lakh to INR 6 lakh (ex-showroom).
