Hyundai Santro small car is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated cars in the Indian car market which is speculated to launch in the country in the second half of this year. As per the report from Cartoq, the Korean auto major is looking to pre-pone the India launch of the new Santro car. The car maker is now planning to roll out the small in the domestic market by August 2018 in comparison to the Festive season as reported in the previous reports. Internally codenamed as AH2, the small car is expected to be priced below INR 3 lakh (ex-showroom). To be introduced as a replacement for the i10 hatchback, the new Santro 2018 will be based on the same platform as that of old i10. The small car will be slotted in between Eon and Grand i10 which will be wider and taller than the old i10. On the exterior front, the all-new Santro 2018 will sport cascading grille, likewise all the new age models from Hyundai, along with new pair of headlamps, new bumper, new fog lamps, new alloys, new rear tail light and more. The cabin of the new Santro 2018 will get major update sporting new dashboard layout, new dual tone fabric upholstery, all-new steering wheel, hi-tech Gizmos, dual tone door panels and much more. Under the bonnet, the new Hyundai Santro 2018 could be offered with two powertrains – 0.8-litre and 1.1-iRDE. However, not many details are available about the engines as of now. Coming to the price point, the new 2018 Santro will see a competitive price tag as compared to its rivals. We speculate the small to be priced in the range of INR 3 lakh to INR 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom) which will take on Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Tata Tiago, Renault Kwid and others in the entry level small car space. As a reminder, the car maker showcased new IONIQ electric sedan, Kona SUV, Active i20 and new Elite i20 at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2018.
