Indian automaker Maruti Suzuki has finally launched its much-awaited new-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire 2017 sedan in India, pricing it from INR 5.45 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The car was revealed in April 2017, dropping the Swift prefix from its name as a indication of the big changes. With its launch now, Maruti has shown that it is serious about pushing the Dzire as more than just a Swift with a boot strapped onto its rear. The bookings have already commenced, and the waiting period is already apparently 8 weeks. The best-selling sedan from the house of Maruti will take on other sub-4-metre sedans in the segment, including the Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze and Ford Aspire. Maruti Dzire VS Ford Aspire – Exterior: The overall design of the new generation Dzire looks more promising and proportionate which is accentuated by hexagonal front grille, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, new bumper, fog lamps, new multi-spoke alloy wheels, body coloured ORVms, new LED tail lamps, new boot design and much more. Maruti Dzire VS Ford Aspire – Dimensions: As far as the dimensions are concerned, Maruti s bestseller comes with 3995mm in length, 1735mm in width and 1515mm in height. Moreover, the wheelbase of the compact sedan has been increased by 20mm which makes it 2450mm ensuring more space at the rear. On the other hand, Ford s popular sedan offering comes with length of 3995mm, width of 1695mm, height of 1525mm along with wheelbase and ground clearance of 2491mm and 174mm.
Maruti Dzire VS Ford Aspire – Colour: The new generation Maruti Dzire now comes with 6 exciting colour options which include Oxford Blue, Sherwood Brown, Gallant Red, Arctic White, Silky Silver and Magma Gray. Maruti Dzire VS Ford Aspire – Interior: On the inside, the new Maruti Dzire looks more premium with revised cabin layout as it comes with new black and beige dual colour scheme. The overall appearance of dashboard is also very much promising which is highlighted by well placed centre console, all-new MID unit, wooden inserts on the dashboard and much more. On the other hand, Ford Aspire too gets a premium interior design which is highlighted by beige-black colour scheme. The multi-functional steering wheel, smart storage bins, chrome bezels on air vents and other convenience factors enhance the comfort factor.

Maruti Dzire VS Ford Aspire – Engine Specifications: Coming to the powerhouse options, the third generation Maruti Dzire continues to sport same engine options as seen on the current model. The 1.2-litre K-series petrol unit is capable of generating 84bhp of max power against the peak torque of 114Nm while the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel unit can churn out 74bhp of max power along with 190Nm of peak torque. Ford Aspire is offered with 2 petrol (1.2-litre Ti-VCT & 1.5-litre Ti-VCT) and 1 diesel (1.5-litre TDCi) engine options. The 1.2-litre petrol engine is capable of developing 86.7 bhp and 112Nm of peak torque while the 1.5-litre petrol mill is tuned to produce 110 bhp and 136Nm of power figures. The diesel engine can churn out 99bhp of max power and 215Nm of peak torque.
Maruti Dzire VS Ford Aspire – Transmission: As far as the transmission duties are concerned, both the engines on Maruti Suzuki Dzire are mated to a 5-speed manual unit as standard and an optional 5-speed AGS unit will also be on offer. Ford Aspire is also offered with 5-speed manual gearbox as standard however, automatic unit is available only on petrol variant. Maruti Dzire VS Ford Aspire – Mileage: As Maruti Suzuki Dzire is based on all-new HEARTECT platform which is a lightweight platform, it is evident that the new sedan is more fuel efficient that the outgoing model. The diesel Dzire has a claimed fuel efficiency of 28.4kmpl, while the petrol model offers 22 kmpl. Ford Aspire is claimed to return 18.16 kmpl, 25.83 kmpl and 17 kmpl for 1.2L petrol MT, 1.5L diesel MT and 1.5L petrol AT.
Maruti Dzire VS Ford Aspire – Variants: The all-new Dzire sedan is being offered in 14 variants across 4 trim levels Lxi/Ldi, Vxi/Vdi, Zxi/Zdi and Zxi+/Zdi+. On the other hand, Ford Aspire comes in 10 variants across 4 trim levels Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+.
Maruti Dzire VS Ford Aspire – Price: The new feature rich and premium Maruti Suzuki Dzire sedan is priced in the range of INR 5.45 lakh INR 9.41 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). While, the Ford Aspire which is too feature rich comes in price bracket of INR 5.45 lakh INR 8.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
