New Maruti Swift 2018: Price in India, Launch Date, Features, Images, Features – 10 Things to Know

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), country’s leading car manufacturer has finally revealed the third generation of the Swift hatchback in India. Slated to be launched at the 14th edition of Auto Expo next month, the Indo-Japanese car maker has initiated the bookings for the new Swift 2018 with token amount of INR 11,000 across more than 2300 dealerships throughout the country. 1. The third generation Swift 2018 flaunts sporty, solid image and stance along with aerodynamic contours that gives a stylish appeal to its overall design. It also gets new grille, sweptback headlamps with LED DRLs, new bumper, diamond-cut allow wheels, floating roof touch and much more.

2. The rear section of the hatchback is also updated which features new bumper and tail lamps, LED-touch to the tail light, spoiler with a stop light and much more.

3. Dimensionally, the all-new Swift is wider by 40 mm and longer by 20mm infusing not only stronger, muscular and well-grounded look but also more  space on the inside.

4. On the inside, the new Maruti Swift 2018 gets new SmartPlay infotainment system with the 7-inch touchscreen and connectivity options such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

6. The hatch now gets longer wheelbase as well as wider track proffering more space on the inside in comparison to the outgoing model. Also, it is lighter than the predecessor, thus, enhancing the performance and fuel efficiency.

8. Under the hood, the power-train options on the new Maruti Swift 2018 will remain untouched. The petrol variant will continue to be offered by the same 1.2-litre unit that can develop 83 bhp of maximum power with peak torque of 140 Nm. The diesel iteration will get 1.3-litre oil burner that will churn 74bhp of maximum power against 170Nm of peak torque.

9. Transmission duties on the new Swift 2018 will be carried out by 5-speed manual gearbox along with 5-speed AGS unit on both petrol and diesel versions for improved and better driving experience.

10. As far as the pricing is concerned, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 is likely to be priced in the range of INR 4.85 Lakh to INR 8 Lakh (ex-showroom). The hatch will directly compete against the likes of Hyundai Grand i10, Tata Tiago, Nissan Micra, Ford Figo and others in the segment.
