New Suzuki Jimny 2018 SUV Images Emerge Online; Likely to Debut at Geneva Motor Show Next Year

Likely to debut at 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the new generation Jimny SUV is likely to be launched in India in 2019.

Suzuki Jimny 2018 SUV is another important product from the stable of Suzuki Motor Corp for the overseas market which has been spied undisguised at company’s production plant. Earlier, it was speculated that the latest version of SUV will make debut at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show, however, Suzuki seemed to be in mood to reveal any details about the SUV. A new set of images of have emerged on the internet which were captured at Suzuki production facility in Japan hinting the arrival of the SUV at 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Suzuki Jimny is one of the most popular models in the Japanese car maker’s lineup for the overseas market which could be launched in the domestic markets as well. Talking about the design, the fourth generation Jimny will continue to sport a 2-door design as seen in the spy images. At the front, the SUV will get 5-slat grille flanked by circular head lights, circular turn-signals on the headlamp housings, new front bumper with integrated fog lamps, dark plastic cladding on flared wheel arches, new tail light design and much more.

Likewise the exterior design, the new Jimny SUV will also sport all-new interior employing a utilitarian design wherein the dash will be simple and sleek. It is also expected to carry touchscreen infotainment system, 3-spoke steering wheel, bigger instrument dials and much more. As far as the engine specs are concerned, no specific details are revealed about the powertrain options for the fourth generation Jimny. However, we speculate that the new 2018 Suzuki Jimny will be offered with a 1.0-litre BoosterJet turbocharged petrol and a 1.2-litre petrol engine options. Transmission functionality is speculated to be carried out by an automatic gearbox. It is also rumored that Jimny will be offered with rear as well as All-Wheel drive versions. Expected to go on sale in Japan by first quarter of 2018, the Indian market will be definitely on the radar of the company as Maruti Suzuki Gypsy is the former predecessor of the SUV.
