Nexa-bound Maruti Ciaz 2017 spotted; India launch in April

Expected to launch in India by April, the new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will sport minor cosmetic updates with powertrains remaining untouched.

Maruti Suzuki India, country’s leading automaker is readying the new Ciaz mid-sized sedan which will be retailed through nexa dealerships. Speculated to launch in India, the Indo-Japanese carmaker has bag full of launches which could surpise the Indian audiences. The leading automajor kicked off the year 2017 on the positive note with the launch of Ignis and Baleno RS. Continuing the momentum, the car maker is looking to introduce the Ciaz facelift anytime soon which has been spotted with no badging at the rear yet again. In a bid to make the sedan more premium, the auto manufacturer is looking to go Nexa way for the upcoming Ciaz sedan. On the exterior front, the facelifted version of Ciaz is expected to carry all-new front grille, smoked headlights, revamped bumpers, smoked headlamps, sunroof and much more. However, the overall dimension of the sedan will remain the same. On the inside, the facelifted model could carry new comfort and safety equipments along with features such as SmartPlay touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay, reverse parking camera, push start and stop, leather seats and navigation system that would be borrowed from the current model.

Under the skin, the new Maruti Ciaz 2017 is expected to carry same 1.3-litre DDiS 200 SHVS diesel engine along with all-new 1.5-litre M15 petrol unit. The new petrol mill can develop 100bhp of max power against the peak torque of 133Nm while the oil burner can easily produce 88.5 bhp of power with 200Nm of peak torque. In terms of mileage, the diesel variant will remain unchanged thus it will be equally fuel efficient as that of current one which will return fuel economy of 28.09 kmpl. On the other hand, the petrol variants with manual and automatic transmission car return mileage of 20.73 kmpl and 19.12 kmpl respectively. As far as the price point goes, we expect that facelifted version of Ciaz will see a minimal hike of INR 50,000 wherein the base variant is expected to be priced near about INR 9 lakh while top end variant could see a price tag of INR 11.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
