Next-generation Maruti Suzuki A-Star spied on test in India!

The next-gen A-Star is expected to make its debut at the 2014 Auto Expo. 

What you see here could well be the next-generation Maruti Suzuki A-Star, testing on Indian roads! Spotted by a member of popular Indian motorcycling community xBhp, the prototype clad in heavy camouflage was caught on road in Gurgaon.

Codenamed YL 7, the upcoming hatchback is Maruti Suzuki’s all-new model which, in all probability, will replace the A-Star in India. According to the source, the prototype model had “an A-Star like rear but a completely different front”.

The next-gen model is said to come with a brand new 800cc diesel engine. While we don’t have any concrete figures just yet, this new engine is likely to be amongst the most fuel efficient diesel units in the country. As for the car, the next-gen A-Star is expected to make its debut at the 2014 Auto Expo in February, followed by an official launch later during the year.
