Next-generation Maruti Suzuki A-Star/2015 Suzuki Alto spied
The next-gen A-Star is likely to debut at the 2014 Auto Expo.

Maruti Suzuki is good at making affordable small cars, as the Swift and the Alto are both at the top of their respective game. Unfortunately for the rest of the brand’s small car lineup, it hasn’t been as smooth sailing as proposed.
The Ritz isn’t selling as well as Maruti would have liked, while sales of the A-Star has been a clear disappointment. Having been launched in 2008, the A-Star is in need of a replacement and Maruti seems to be preparing just that. The next-gen A-Star (called the Suzuki Alto in global markets) has been caught on test in Delhi. The spy shots captured by an Indian Autos Blog reader show one of the prototypes of the upcoming model codenamed YL7.
This next-gen model will replace the current Alto sold overseas whereas here in India, the car will replace the ageing A-Star and the Estilo. Powering the car will be an extremely fuel efficient 800cc diesel engine which currently is said to be in development. As for the car, the next-gen A-Star is expected to make its debut at the 2014 Auto Expo in February, followed by an official launch later during the year.
