NY2011: Mercedes Benz E63 AMG

The E63 has got brawnier, insaner and greener!

The Mercedes Benz E63 AMG has been updated for 2012. As you would expect, the new E63 is more powerful, but that’s not all. It is more efficient too! The E63, contrary to its name, houses a 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8. 

Mercedes will be offering this engine in its crazy form at a 518 PS power output and in an insane form at 550 PS power output under the sane nametag of ‘AMG Sport Package’. These numbers are enough to propel the car to an electrically-restricted top whack of 250 kmph for the crazy version and 300 kmph for the insane version, while achieving a naught to 100 kmph dash of less than 4.4 seconds and 4.3 seconds respectively. 

The E63 also becomes 22 percent more efficient, thanks to the spray-guided direct injection from the piezoelectric injectors. The car also incorporates a new sporty steering wheel and aluminium shift paddles which is mated to a ‘greener’ power-steering system which only draws power when the steering is being turned. Expect this model to come to India by late 2011.
