NY2011: Nissan Versa

The Nissan Sunny, which was unveiled in Shanghai a few months back, will be rebadged as the Tiida for Europe and Versa for the United States. The latter was unveiled at the New York Motor Show and features slightly redesigned interiors to appeal to the stateside clientele. 

The Versa is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine which claims to return fuel economy of up to 11 kmpl. The base price is the United States will start at $10,990 (Rs 5-lakh approx.).

The Versa is expected to be come to India in the next couple of months. However, the interiors of the Indian version won’t be as premium as the ones you see in the video above. Instead, the Indian model will get interiors that are a tad similar to the Micra hatchback.

The 1.6-litre petrol mill will be joined by a diesel option too, in the form of the 1.5-litre dCi oil burner that does duty in the Mahindra Logan.
