Porsche is to launch the 718 Boxter and the new Cayman 2017 in India tomorrow. Porsche dealerships have already started taking deliveries of this rear-engine mounted sports car while they are expected to be priced in the bracket of INR 80 to 85 lakh (ex-showroom).
The major highlight of these cars is to be the new 2.0-litre, turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine which is good for pumping out 298Bhp along with 380Nm of peak torque. The same is to be paired to Porsche’s PDK 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The duo working in tandem can propel the car from 0 to 100km/h in just under 4.7 seconds with the top speed clocking at 275km/h. Earlier these two tow door road monsters were fitted with a 3.4-litre flat six engine.
It is not only the engine which is to see an update, the 718 Boxter and Cayman are to get retuned chassis, wider front and side air-intakes along with side skirts for improved aerodynamic performance.
Further new updates include a 918 spyder inspired steering wheel, new LED taillamps with bi-xenon headlamps which are to now come with LED DRLs. LED headlamps will also be on offer in a separate optional pack.
