Renault unveiled their first small car for India during the Indian Formula One GP in the form of the Pulse. The Pulse, as you can see in the images, is a Nissan Micra with a re-designed body. While it may sound like a sinful act to the Indian audiences, such re-badging practices are prevalent in the global markets – in fact you could have two exactly similar products in the same market with two different badges!
Since for us the Pulse is just a re-designed Micra then, Renault assures that the ownership experience of the Pulse will be different than that of the Nissan Micra. Though Renault India doesn’t necessarily say that it would be better or worse to own a Pulse over the Micra, the French carmaker promises its customers the same sort of premium treatment that they would receive if they were to enter the Renault showroom to buy a Koleos or a Fluence. Renault is also expected to come up with innovative service procedures to set the Pulse apart from its Japanese cousin.
To add a little more juice to the Pulse over the Micra, Renault could also offer the sporty body-kits and other cosmetic upgrades that Renault showcased on the Pulse RenaultSport version during the launch. These upgrades though could be available only at the dealer level.
Are these bits enough for you to choose the Pulse over the Micra? Or would you expect something more? Let us know!
