Renault Captur 2017 Crossover SUV unveiled; India Launch Next Month

Renault India has finally taken wraps off the new Captur Crossover SUV which will be launching in India next month.

Renault India has finally unveiled the much anticipated Renault Captur Crossover SUV in India today in the presence of Ranbir Kapoor. Expected to launch in India next month, this new premium offering from the French car maker will find its place above Duster SUV. Sharing its platform with Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano, the premium Crossover SUV is developed on globally successful B0 platform which influences the expertise of Renault India and global teams. The introduction of Captur premium SUV in India will be significant step in Renault’s growth journey in the domestic market. Being a premium product from the car maker, the SUV is expected to get price of around INR 12 Lakh (ex-showroom). The prospect buyers can pre-book this premium offering from Renault India with token amount of INR 25,000. The crossover SUV from the house of French car maker comes with family grille design, LED headlamps with DRLs and dynamic turn indicators, 17-inch alloy wheels and new tail lights. Inside the cabin, it will sport dual-tone black and white scheme giving it a premium appeal featuring centre console in piano black. Safety-wise, the Captur is equipped with dual airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist as a standard fitment. Other additional safety equipments like rear parking camera with parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat anchor are also on offer. As far as the powerhouse options are concerned, the new Captur will share the engine options with younger sibling – Duster which is available in both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol version comes powered by a H4K 1.5-litre petrol engine which is tuned to produce 106PS of max power with peak torque of 142Nm. Both the engines are mated to a 6-speed manual unit as standard while an automatic version is expected to be introduced on the later stage. Likely to be slotted in the range of INR 12 – INR 15 lakh (ex-showroom), the all-new Captur will compete against the rivals such as Hyundai Creta, Honda BR-V and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross.
