We previously reported that Renault Captur Crossover SUV India launch has been postponed to the month of November. The Crossover SUV will be launched in the country by first half of next month, however, official launch date has not been revealed yet. The French automaker also commenced the bookings for the Captur previously with token amount of INR 25,000. The company has also initiated dispatching of all-new Captur to all the dealerships across the country. To be placed above Renault Duster, the Captur Crossover SUV will take on Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV500 and others in the segment. Expected to be priced in the range of INR 12 lakh to INR 15 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Captur will be based on the M0 platform as that of Duster. On the exterior front, the all-new Renault Captur flaunts bold, assertive presence with dual tone exterior design that gives distinctive appeal. It also gets R17 Crystal Cut alloy wheels, iconic C-shaped Sapphire LED DRLs, Floating Side Indicators, Sparkle Full LED headlamps, Ripple Tail lamps and more. Dimension-wise, the Crossover SUV will measure length of 4329 mm, width of 1813 mm and height of 1619 mm along with wheelbase of 2673 mm. As far as the features go, the new Captur Crossover SUV will be packed with hi-tech features such as 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system with GPS navigation, first-in-class infinity instrument cluster, LED cabin lighting, leather upholstery, multiple airbags, parking sensors, reverse parking camera, ABS with EBD, ESP, ISOFIX child seat mounts and engine start/stop button and more. Under the skin, the new Captur Crossover SUV will be offered in both petrol and diesel engines wherein the petrol will be a 1.5-litre H4K and diesel will be a 1.5-litre K9K diesel. The former can make 103 BHP of maximum power with 153 Nm of peak torque while the latter is tuned to churn out 108 BHP of power and 240 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties will be carried out by a 5-speed & 6-speed manual transmission and an automatic unit is also likely to be on offer.
