Like other manufacturers, Renault India too will be increasing the prices for its entire domestic portfolio from January 1, 2018. We already reported that manufacturers like Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Tata Motors, Skoda Auto India, Honda Cars India, Isuzu Motors, Mahindra are set to increase the prices for their cars by next month in order to absorb rising inputs costs. However, Maruti Suzuki India & Hyundai Motor India Ltd have no plans to increase prices for their products as of now. Another manufacturer that intends to increase the prices by 1st of next month is Renault India, wherein the French car-maker will increase the prices for Kwid, Duster, Lodgy by 3 percent. The recently launched Renault Captur has been excluded from this list. The primary reasons for the increment in the prices according to the car maker are rising input and freight costs. The small car is available with a starting price of INR 2.62 lakh while the top of the line – Climber variant is price tagged at 4.55 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Maruti Suzuki Alto rival is offered in two engine options – 799cc and 999cc. The smaller engine is capable of developing 54PS whereas the bigger unit makes 68PS of maximum power. Both the units are mated to a 5-speed gearbox as standard whereas 5-speed Easy-R AMT is also offered on the bigger motor as an option. Moreover, Renault Duster and Lodgy are another popular products in the French automaker’s portfolio. The former is priced in the range of INR 8.42 – 12.97 lakh (ex-showroom) while the latter attract buyers with a price bracket of INR 8 – 11.64 lakh (ex-showroom).
