Renault India has today announced that it’s entry level hatchback, Kwid has now achieved the milestone of selling 1.75 lakh units in India. One of the largest selling cars from the French automaker in our country, the Renault KWID comes at a starting price of INR 2.62 Lakh (ex-Delhi). With the implementation of the new GST scheme, the prices of this car have been reduced by INR 5,200 – 29,500, depending upon the variant brought. Renault India has been working quite extensively on the product lifecycle of the KWID hatchback in India. First the 0.8-litre variant of the vehicle was launched, which was later followed by the debut of the more powerful 1.0-litre SCe version. The entry level hatchback has set new benchmarks in length, power to weight ratio, boot space, ground clearance and technology. Banking on this very sentiment, Renault soon introduced the 1.0-litre variants with an AMT gearbox. Together with the convenience that the KWID AMT offers, it comes with a revolutionary first in segment SHIFT CONTROL AMT DIAL (R-N-D) instead of a conventional gearstick. This was followed by the KWID CLIMBER launched with the 1.0L SCe powertrain in both manual and AMT options. KWID CLIMBER has been developed keeping in mind specific customer needs and caters to diverse audiences, becoming the perfect offering for young achievers who are moving up places steadfastly.
