In a statement released by the company, Sumit Sawhney, Renault India Operations Country CEO and Managing Director said, “Pulse is an important part of our product portfolio and we have made several product enhancements to make the 2015 Pulse even more attractive and exciting for customers.”
Talking about the aesthetic add-ons and technical upgrades, the new Pulse comes with automatic headlamps, steering mounted controls and a height adjustable driver seat for better comfort. Other features include, smart key access with engine start and stop button, auto folding ORVMs and an integrated 2 DIN music system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. As for the safety offering of the new Renault Pulse, the French automaker has loaded the hatchback with ABS coupled with EBD, dual airbags and crash sensors.
There is no new addition to the powertrain of the new Renault Pulse. It has been launched with the same a 1.5 litre diesel that produces 64PS of peek power and a 1.2 litre petrol engines that churns out 76 PS and 104 Nm of torque. Both the motors come paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The company denied the reports that it has stopped the production of Pulse and Scala from its Chennai facility. “Contrary to the reports of Renault stopping its production of Pulse and Scala, it has been confirmed that there is no stoppage of production of these products at the Oragadam plant in Chennai,” sources said.
Renault manufactures sedans Fluence and Scala, hatchback Pulse and SUVs Duster and Koleos at its Oragadam manufacturing facility in Chennai. Sources said the company also has product refreshment plans for Scala. Both Pulse and Scala will continue to be an important part of Renault's product portfolio going forward, they added.
