Royal Enfield leads two-wheeler sales in India with 47.5 % growth in domestic sales for May 2015

Iconic Indian bike-maker Royal Enfield India today reported a 41.35 per cent increase in total sales for the month of May at 35,354 units. The company had sold 25,010 units in the same period last year. As for domestic sales, the company saw a surge of 41.23 per cent to 34,615 units last month compared to the 24,509 units sold in May 2014.

Eicher Motors, the parent company of Royal Enfield India revealed its financial report in a filing to the BSE. The statement also mentioned that exports during the month stood at 739 units compared with 501 units sold in May last year, giving the bike maker a boost of 47.5 per cent.

Royal Enfield India is one among the oldest motorcycle manufacturers in India and sells a total of 11 motorcycles spread across four different models. What’s really noteworthy is that even with its limited models the motorcycle manufacturer commands one of the highest grown rates in India.

Royal Enfield’s current line up includes Continental GT, Thunderbird 500 & 350, Classic 500 & 350, Classic Desert Storm, Battle Green & Chrome, Bullet Electra and Bullet Standard 500 & 350. Recently the company also unveiled its new limited edition ‘Despatch Riders’ series will are to go on sale from next month.
