You have to agree that it was rather boring to see the same (okay, similar) camouflaged pictures of the upcoming MINI but all that's history now as the hard working shooters (read spy photographers) have finally managed to click pictures of the 2014 MINI. Only the car's not under the psychedelic camouflage this time. Spotted during a photoshoot are the 2014 versions of the MINI in standard and Cooper S trims.

The report by Autoblog suggests that the new car, expected to be based on parent company BMW's upcoming UKL architecture could be a bit longer than the current MINI. The fascia gets updated with new headlamps with daytime running corona lamps embedded in them, a more rounded front grille and restyled bumper. The silhouette remains pretty much unchanged but the rear now gets bigger tail lamps.

Engine options are likely to change too, with a twin turbo 1.5-litre three cylinder unit being used extensively for most models with chances of a four-cylinder unit being available too. Fate of the stellar inline 1.6-litre engine is yet to be decided though. The car is expected to make an appearance at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.

Let's wait and watch!
